Dear Friends of COR,
Please help us build a new Worship Center in Irvine, CA. We pray for friends like you who enable us to carry on our important work in Christ’s name. Please know, too, that our prayer for you is that you would know the joy of giving to the Lord’s purposes, whether through our ministry or otherwise.
Christ Our Redeemer AME Church has worshipped in a UCI classroom for five years. We have grown from five members to over seven hundred and fifty members. 7:00 AM every Sunday, crews of men and women move two truck loads of sound equipment, musical instruments, and pulpit furniture and decorations from storage facilities to the UCI campus. 4:00 PM every Sunday, the same crew returns the items to begin again the next week. We have Bible Study on Monday, Tuesday. Wednesday, and Thursday nights at a leased facility located five miles from the UCI Campus. The cost of renting the classroom and administrative offices, UCI parking fees, and labor cost are forever increasing. God has called us to take the next spiritual step of building a permanent worship center.
Our members have located land for the Worship Center near the Irvine Spectrum and the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. Broadway Federal Bank has committed to lend us one million eight hundred fifty thousand dollars for the acquisition and development of a new twelve thousand square foot sanctuary. The first service is scheduled for July 2006. We need one million five hundred thousand dollars more to complete the vision.
